Passed away at the Health Sciences Centre on Friday, July 26, 2024 at the age of 69 years, Julia (Julie) Dawn Wickens (nee Parsonage), of Pilot Mound, MB.
Julie was known as a happy go lucky but quiet person. She met Mel, her high school sweetheart at 17, married him at 19, and went on to have Troy and Byron who were her pride and joy. This year would have marked their 50th anniversary married.
She absolutely loved being around kids, using her passion for crochet, she would often make and donate blankets to kids in need, she spent most of her life babysitting or running a day home in Winnipeg and Thompson.
When she wasn’t busy with kids, she was travelling with her family. One of her favorite memories would have to be her honeymoon where her and Mel spent their time travelling and camping western Canada.
She was a compassionate, gentle and caring mother who loved her boys, whether that was teaching them how to cook and bake or making sure they said their nightly prayers and then sharing that passion for the Lord throughout life.
We will remember a loving mother, whose presence brought light, immense joy and laughter into our lives. Julia, beloved wife and mother you will be missed beyond words, carried in our hearts forever and never forgotten
