Terrence “Terry” R. Arndt, 73 formerly of Martin, Ohio passed away Friday July 26, 2024 at
Orchard Villa Nursing Home in Oregon Ohio. Born in Oregon, Ohio on April 19 1951. Terry, son
Richard E. and A. Maureen (St. Marie) Arndt lived in Genoa. Later to reside in Martin, Ohio for
the latter duration of his life.
Terry was an easygoing, fun-loving fellow. Many knew him as being the guy to tell a good tall
tale, always with the ending reply of, “Na, I was just joshin ya lol!” Terry was raised by the most
loving and kind parents, whom he was delighted to be in the presence of. He was the oldest of
five siblings. Terry spent much of his childhood in woods, creeks, riverbeds, or the lake. His love
for nature was something to be admired. As he became an adult, he learned the art of
Taxidermy. Terry was a natural when it came to this profession. His ability to recreate an animal
in its natural state was impressive to say the least. However, his many talents didn’t stop there.
He enjoyed teaching his daughter how to forage, shoot, fish, garden, and more. He loved his
family well. Gathering around his mother’s table for holidays gave him much joy.; many laughs
and memories were had. Terry reminisced on the days he and his brother, Jeff, would “slaughter”
truck beds full of pigeons while his daughter, Laura, and nephew, Chad, tagged along on
occasion to retrieve the birds in the fields. He loved his grandchildren, and was always eager to
hear what sport, adventure, or passion they were into. He had many friends whom he loved.
Most folks in the Genoa community knew him by name. Terry enjoyed spending time with
friends whom he would fish, hunt, go grab a bite to eat with or try to one up one another of their
biggest catch, largest rack, or cheapest find. Sunday mornings in summer were spent at the flea market, shooting the crap with the old timers. Some would be shocked to know that he loved to dance and had spent many weekends with friends at the Stony Ridge Inn doing so. Terry was a true
woodsman. He enjoyed squirrel and rabbit for dinner. Terry took pride in raising his rabbits,
cockatiels, or the many other different pets he’d had over the years, He found solace in the
woods, cutting lumber while preparing for winter. His life was something for all to learn from. He
was intentional with relationships, gifts he gave were well thought out and many times
homemade, he knew the importance of agriculture and preservation of wildlife, and found peace
in the stillness of the Lord's beautiful creations in nature. He will be missed dearly. Ones left
behind find refuge and have joy knowing they will reunite with Terry once again in Heaven.
Terry is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Laura & Juston Pelow; grandchildren, Keerstin
Pelow & her fiance', Brian Urias, Kendyl, Urijah, Elijah and Kaedynce Pelow; siblings, Nanette
& Tom DeSantis, Sheila Egert and Jeff & Cindy Arndt; and brother-in-law, Fred Mollenhauer. He was
preceded in death by his parents, Richard & Maureen Arndt and sister Michelle Mollenhauer.
