Mrs. Nellie Mae Posey, of LaGrange, passed away on July 26, 2024. She was born in Heflin, Alabama on August 2, 1935, to the late William Watson and Ruthie May Watson. Mrs. Nellie was a devoted Mother and Grandmother. She spent most of her life preaching and teaching the word of God. She was always available to her friends and family when they needed help or just in need of prayer. She loved the Lord with all her heart, and we can rest assured that she is rejoicing in heaven with Jesus today.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Brenda Joyce Poling, and all her siblings. She is survived by her children, Roger Stevens (Diane), Sarah Ann Poor (Jack), Shelia Duffey (Dizzy), Glenna McNatt (Mark), and special “daughter”, Tammy New (David). She was completely adored by her 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

The Family will receive friends at Higgins Funeral Home at Hunter-Allen-Myhand on Monday, July 29, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The funeral service will be held at Higgins Funeral Home at Hunter-Allen-Myhand on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at 2:00 PM. Brother Leonard Hodge and Joyce Dennis will officiate. She will be laid to rest immediately following the service at Gray Hill Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive guests at the residence of Mr. & Mrs. Duffey at 4696 Hamilton Road, Lagrange, Georgia.
