Marjorie Elsbeth Shooter Obituary

Marjorie Elsbeth Shooter, age 89, passed from this life Friday, July 26, 2024 surrounded by her family. Marjorie was born February 23, 1935, in Howell, Michigan, the daughter of Arthur and Ardyce (Dickenson) Veith.

Graveside services will be held 11am Friday, September 20, 2024 at Great Lakes National Cemetery.

Marjorie married Harold Shooter in Fowlerville, Michigan on September 21, 1951. Marjorie was a homemaker and spent her life raising and caring for her family.

Marjorie was best known for her sewing and knitting - churning out quilts, sweaters, hats, and mittens with the skill and speed of a small factory. These works of her hands will be cherished for years to come by her family and the local schools and charities where she donated them. When Marjorie wasn’t sewing or knitting, she was an avid reader and enjoyed watching horse races, having loved and owned horses from her childhood. Despite her many talents, Majorie was most proud of her family and spent much of her time supporting them at sporting events, keeping up with their lives, and sharing their accomplishments with her friends and acquaintances.

Marjorie is survived by her children, Jacqueline Cook (Berton), Sherry Grinnell, Greg Shooter (Lynne), four grandchildren Tony Grinnell (Kelly), Amy Brock (Michael), Shanda Greco (David), Kerstin Rasch (Tony), thirteen great grandchildren, and her sister Priscilla Shelters.

Marjorie was predeceased by her husband Harold Shooter, her parents, and her brothers Martin Veith and David Veith.

Marjorie will be buried with her husband of 69 years, Harold, at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly.
