William “Mike” Lachniet, 83, of Windsor Locks, formerly of Enfield passed away on Friday, July 26, 2024, with his loving family by his side. He was born February 2, 1941, in Grand Rapids, MI to John and Mary (Peck) Lachniet. He was the husband of Donna (Paquin) Lachniet to whom he was married for 57 years. Mike resided in Enfield for over 50 years prior to moving to Windsor Locks. He was employed at Hamilton Standard in Windsor Locks and then Travelers Insurance Company prior to his retirement. Mike was a private pilot and enjoyed flying his Cessna but had an interest in all airplanes. He was a member and treasurer of the Horizon Flyers Club and spent his retirement years gathering daily with his friends at their “Coffee Klatsch” at Skylark Airport. Mike also enjoyed many trips with his wife across the country traveling in their RV. Besides his wife, Donna, he is survived by his sons; Jason and Erik Lachniet; his brother, Joe Lachniet ; his grandchildren, Krystal-Ann, Carol-Ann, Sherry-Ann, Jake, Alec and Annika and his 4 great-grandchildren.
