Barbara Ann Rozanski, 89, passed away on July 26, 2024.

Barb was born on April 25, 1935 to Henry and Mary (née Zalesky) Benz. She was a native of Beacon Falls where she graduated from Center School and then attended Naugatuck High School, graduating with the Class of 1954.

Barb had fond memories of growing up in her beloved town of Beacon Falls and playing with the neighborhood kids on the Hill. She was a member of the Rock Rimmon Grange with her older brother Henry when they were younger. She was an excellent student and during high school played on the badminton team, went to Girls State and was in the National Honor Society.

She married Richard Rozanski on June 25, 1955 after meeting him at Rosenblatt’s Department Store in Naugatuck.  Barb and Rich were married for 58 years. They lived briefly in Naugatuck and Derby until finding a piece of property in Beacon Falls where she could build her dream home and raise her two sons.

Barb worked as a bookkeeper in the offices of Eastern Malleable Company, U.S. Rubber Company and Tech Electric Company during her working career. She loved working in the office and worked until her health prevented her from continuing.

Later in her life she enjoyed going on cruises with her husband and visiting her older son in Florida. She also enjoyed spending time with her four grandchildren.

Barb was predeceased by her parents, her husband and her brother Henry Benz. She is survived by her sons Rich Rozanski of Watertown, Don Rozanski (Chris) of Woodbury, her grandchildren; Lynn Rozanski (Andy) of Tucson, Arizona, Jesse (Nicole) Rozanski of Waterbury, Nikki (Tony) Loomis of Southington and Tim (Becky) Rozanski of Bristol and her great-grandchildren Sebastian, Nico, Fiona and Maggie.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 1, 2024, from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main Street, Naugatuck. Services will be held at St. Vincent Ferrer Church in Naugatuck for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Grove Cemetery, 1 Cross Street, Naugatuck.
