LeRoy "Bud" George Wiser, 90, of Avonmore, PA passed away Friday, July 26, 2024. He was the son of the late George and Dorothy (Cogley) Wiser. LeRoy was a veteran of the United States Army and worked many years as a mechanic of heavy machinery. He was born in Avonmore and lived on a farm in Spring Church with his parents and six siblings. LeRoy started a working career as a teenager on a horse ranch in Butler while living with his Aunt Irene and Uncle Clair. From living in Ohio to owning a bar in the state of Oklahoma to living in Arizona then Colorado, where he was  Colorado Mounted Ranger., LeRoy loved to travel and meet new people. After retiring as a mechanic in Colorado, he returned to Pennsylvania where he enjoyed the outdoors with his wife and his beloved dog, Little Bit.


He is survived by his two children, John (Katie) Wiser of Washington Township and Rose Ann Hatadis of Washington state; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; his brother, William (Donna) Wiser of Saltsburg; three sisters: Helen Reefer of Apollo, Janet (James Aris) Barnes of Connecticut, and Ruth (Brad) Bourdess of Spring Church; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.


In addition to his parents, LeRoy is preceded in death by his son, David Wiser; his daughter, Joyce Khan; the mother of his four children and ex-wife, Dorothy Germen; his two sisters, Martha Garmond and Evelyn Calderone; and his wife, Georgeann Kunkle Wiser. A veteran service will take place at Fairview Cemetery 1654 state route 56  E Apollo in Spring Church on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at 11:00 am. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Janette L. Gamble Funeral Home Inc. 2842 River Road Vandergrift, PA 15690
