Iva Moore Tallent, age 97 of Maiden passed away Thursday, August 23, 2018 at Catawba Valley Living at Rock Barn in Claremont. Born July 17, 1921 in Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Roy Lee and Mary Ramsey Moore. Iva was a member of East Maiden Baptist Church in Maiden. In addition to her parents, husband Pinkery Delbert Tallent, 4 brothers and 5 sisters preceded her in death. Left to cherish her memory: Daughter: Shirley Sigmon and husband, John of Maiden Son: Robert “Bob” Tallent and wife, Margaret of Maiden 2 Granddaughters: Pennie Kincaid of Maiden; Mary Tallent Baker and husband, Ted of Florida 3 Grandsons: Mike Southers and wife, Wendy; Bill Southers and wife, Erlin of Maiden; Bobby Tallent of Raleigh 9 Great-Grandchildren and 6 Great, Great-Grandchildren Numerous nieces and nephews The funeral service will be held Monday, August 27, 2018 at 2:00 PM at East Maiden Baptist Church in Maiden with Pastor Nathaniel Austin officiating. Burial will follow in Maiden City Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00– 1:45 PM at the church.
