Chinh Van Tran, 64, of East Hartford, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2024, at the UCONN John Dempsey Hospital with his loving daughters at his side. Born September 28, 1959, in Ha Tien, Vietnam, he came to the United States in 1978 as a refugee following the Vietnam War. For over 30 years, he worked as a machinist at Metallizing Service Co. in West Hartford.
He is survived by his former wife Vanessa Tran; their children Jeannie of Hamden, Kevin of Hamden, and Sarah of Falls Church, VA; his siblings Chuong Van Tran, Sang Thi Tran, Tho Thi Tran, Anh Thi Tran, Tuoi Thi Tran, and Dep Thi Tran; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father Loi Van Tran, mother Phuong Thi Nguyen, brother Sang Van Tran, and sister Mi Thu Thi Tran.
Family and friends may call on the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 W. Center Street, Manchester, CT, on Saturday, August 3rd, 2024, for a Buddhist prayer ceremony starting at 3:00 p.m. followed by calling hours until 7:00 p.m.
