Bertha Helena Raymond Obituary

MILLINOCKET - Bertha Helena (Quinn) Raymond, 96, of Millinocket passed away July 25th, 2024, after a long illness, surrounded by her loving family. Bertha, the daughter of John and Margaret Quinn was born May 3rd, 1928. She graduated from Stearns High School in 1945. She married the love of her life Benjamin Raymond on September 2nd, 1948, and together with him raised their three children.

Bertha is survived by her daughter Marianne Piner and fiancé Bryan, daughter Debbie Barnes and husband Terry, son John Raymond and his wife Natalie. Grandchildren Christopher Piner, Matthew Barnes, Jason Raymond and Jennifer Raymond, that she loved dearly, as well as her 13 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.

Bertha was a homemaker, a wife, and a mother, she was strong and resilient, very proud of her Irish heritage, and was the heart of our home and family. She along with her husband Ben raised their children to be loving and thoughtful adults. It was learned early on that family and family values were very important.

Bertha was a member of Christ the Divine Mercy Church. She worked alongside her husband Ben on the Katahdin Area Support Group for many years, receiving a commendation for their years of service.

Bertha was predeceased by Ben, her loving husband of 68 years, her father and mother John and Margaret Quinn, her sisters, Ileen Little, Emma Corrigan, Marion Lane, and Ave Mayhew.

The family wishes to thank the many angels that helped our mother, Jessica, Melissa and Joanne of Beacon Hospice for the care, kindness and love they showed our mother, also her other angels that were there every night, Marion, Julie, Ivana, Glenda, Evelyn, and Donna, a thank you is not enough.

Funeral services will be held on August 17th, 2024, at the Christ Divine Mercy Church in Millinocket. Visiting hours will be held in the church from 10am to 11am. Mass will be at 11 am with graveside committal to follow the Mass. As requested by the family, donations may be made to the Katahdin Area Support Group in lieu of flowers.
