Mr. Milton Henry Patrick, Sr. Obituary

Milton Henry Patrick, Sr., affectionately known to many as “MH”, was born on June 18, 1933, in Toone, TN, to the Union of Jim and Elvie Lake Patrick. He was the 5th child of nine children who were born to this union. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Tony; two grandsons, Tephon and Jaden: four sisters, Lorraine, Rosie B., Bernice, and Ruby Lee; three brothers: James, Charlie, and Thomas; and a son-in-law, Anthony.

Milton was educated through the Humboldt, TN School District. In 1950, at the age of Twenty, he decided to move his residence to St. Louis, MO.

Milton confessed a hope in Christ at an early age and was baptized at Williams Chapel MB Church located in Humboldt, TN.  After moving to St. Louis, he became a member of Southern Mission Church.  He later moved his membership to New Emmanuel MB Church under the leadership of the late Rev. CH Thames where he remained a faithful member for over 46 years until his health began to decline. He served as the President of the Male Chorus and the Senior Usher Board.

He held several jobs throughout his lifetime, such as McQuay-Norris Auto Parts and he retired from Huntleigh Transportation. He enjoyed walking and playing softball. His passion was working on cars. He was able to fix any issue related to a vehicle.  This is how he became known as “THE SHADE TREE MECHANIC”. He loved and adored his 1958 Chevy. In his younger years, he was a professional boxer where he was a recipient of The Amateur Golden Glove Award.

One sweet day on April 1, 1968, he met the love of his life, Helen Simmons, who became his wife on December 25, 1978. His Family was his world.  He was a Provider, A Protector, and a Hero to his family and many others. He was a  great example of a Father, as he would often say, “ I AM A MAN.”

On July 26, 2024, at 4:25 a.m., he received his call to Join the Meeting with his Heavenly Father. He leaves to cherish his memories forever: his wife, Helen; 2 sons: Lynn (Georgia) and  Milton Jr.;  5 daughters: Monica (Danny),  Ronda, Tiffany (Rodney), Celisa, and Natasha; 13 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, Goddaughter; Danielle & Family, 2 brothers; John and Rodger (Belinda); 3 sisters; Ella Mae, Helen (James), and Louise;  2 Brothers-in-Law; Welton (Mary) and George; 1 Sister -in-law, Linnie; his Caregiver; Keisha ; New Northside Resident Family, NEMBC Family and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
