Walter O’Rourke, aged 80, passed away on July 24, 2024, in Fort Mill, SC. Born on September

22, 1943, in Jackson Heights, New York to Walter and Veronica O’Rourke, he was a respected

figure in his community, and a successful builder and entrepreneur. He had a strong moral

compass and thought nothing about closing a deal with just a handshake. Walter was creative

by nature and unselfishly shared all his talents with everyone he knew.

He leaves behind his loving wife Karen of nearly 57 years, his daughters, Colleen Sander and

Kelly O’Rourke-Russell. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Christine Revin. Walter

leaves a legacy of love and mentorship which will continue thru not only his daughters but his

grandchildren Beth Coldiron, Jacob Witt, Jared Sander, Aidan Sander, Mya O’Rourke-Russell,

Caedyn O’Rourke Russell, Gregory Revin & Jeffrey Revin not to mention his seven great-

grandchildren. Walter was a man of many passions, including gardening, cooking, and bread

making, hobbies that brought joy not only to him but also to those he loved.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 pm on August 24, 2024, at St. Phillip Niri Catholic Church,

292 Munn Road East, Fort Mill, SC 29715.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Charlie’s Heart Foundation, honoring Walter's
