James “Jimmy” E. Faddis, Sr. – age 89 of Knoxville, TN has left this temporary home and has entered his forever home to join his family that have gone before him.
Preceded in death by parents, Tilman and Pearl Sliger Faddis; sister, Mabel Faddis Shipley and husband Bob; sister, Margaret Faddis Hodges and husband John; sister, Cecelia Faddis Hubbs and husband Ralph; sister, Juanita Faddis Tate and husband Bud. He also had two sisters and a brother who passed away before he was born, Hazel, Tilman Jr. and Barbara Jane; his one and only daughter, Kim Faddis Lowery Kovacic and her mother, Beth Pierce Faddis.
He leaves behind his wife of 45 years, Laura Dixon Letts Faddis; sons, James E. Faddis Jr. “Jef” and wife Cathy, Mark A. Faddis and wife Carol; step-daughters, Shannon Letts and Tiffany Letts; grandchildren, Rachel (Jon) Doughty, Heather Bovee, Cody Faddis, Hannah Elle Faddis, Sofia Kovacic, Bronte Elle Faddis, and Nikolas Kovacic; great grandchildren, Zachary Doughty, Lucas Bovee, Madalyn Doughty, Micah Bovee, Vaidra Bovee, and William Doughty; and several nieces and nephews who he loved dearly.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1953-1956. He graduated from Fulton High School and got an Associates Degree in Mechanical Engineering from U.T. He was a member of Clear Springs Baptist Church in Corryton where he was a faithful worker at the mission house and loved to help in VBS when he could. He never met a stranger and loved to make others feel special. His smile along with his sparkling blue eyes were his unique attributes that people always remembered.
The family will receive friends 5:00-7:00 PM Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at Bridges Funeral Home followed by the funeral service at 7:00 PM with Pastor Justin Pratt officiating. On Wednesday, July 31, 2024, family and friends will meet 10:45 AM at Greenwood Cemetery for an 11:00 AM graveside service.
