Dorothy "Dot" Caldwell Burch, 97, of Lowell, peacefully transitioned to her heavenly home on July 23, 2024 while at the Robin Johnson Hospice House.  She was born June 2, 1927 in Gaston County, North Carolina, a daughter of the late Dewey Bartley Caldwell and Virginia Louise Cochran.

Dorothy was a graduate of Belmont High School.  She was a long time faithful member of First Baptist Church, Belmont.  Having no children of her own, Aunt Dot, as she was so affectionately known, was a beloved mother to many, especially all of her nieces and nephews.  

Those left to cherish her memory include her sisters, Peggy C. Lingerfelt, Helen C. Ritch, and Joann C. Leatherland; as well as a number of very special nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, Dot was preceded in death by her husband John Wesley Burch; brothers, Guy, Jerry, Larry, Jimmy and Douglas Caldwell; as well as a sister, Betty C. Spearman.

The family would like to thank the staff at Robin Johnson Hospice House for your care and compassion for Dot in her final days.           

A graveside service to celebrate Dot's life will be held at Greenwood Cemetery, 2:00 pm on Saturday, July 27, 2024 with Rev. Charles Keller officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gaston Hospice, P.O. Box 3984 Gastonia, NC 28054 or to First Baptist Church, 23 N. Central Avenue Belmont, NC 28012.
