Esther Lydia Monzon, aged 68, passed away surrounded by her loved ones on July 22, 2024, in Newburgh, NY. Born on December 4, 1955, in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico, she lived a life marked by her deep commitment to her family and friends.
Esther dedicated her career to serving others at the WIC Department of Sun River Health, where her compassion and commitment made a lasting impact. She was beloved for her involvement in her community, always eager to give and uplift those around her.
She is survived by her loving children, Alexa, Alex, Aimee, Azia and Raymond; her loving grandchildren Irma, Kylee, Alex Jr., Zoe, Milo, Jamel, Jadalee, Justice, Jose, Adam, Analyah and Amaya; her loving great grandchildren Nyliana, Cassius, Jamel III, Yanuel, Katalaya, Leonidas and Braydon. One sister; five brothers and 10 nieces and nephews and her loving son and daughter in law, Jose and Christina; who will all miss her so deeply.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alejandrina Gonzalez and Guillermo Monzon, her sister Irma and her great grandson Isaiah Calderon-Willis.
Services to honor Esther's life will be held at Riverview Funeral Home by Halvey, 2 Beekman Street, Beacon on Monday, July 29 from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, July 30 at 11 AM at St. John the Evangelist Church, 35 Willow Street, Beacon. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, 93 Union Avenue, New Windsor.
Her life and legacy will be remembered by all who knew her as a beacon of love and selflessness.
