George William "Bill" Crissone, 78 of Sunny View died Monday July 22, 2024 at the Charles George VA hospital in Asheville NC, following a brief illness.
Born in Polk County, NC he was the son of the late Clyde and Mary Flannigan Crissone. Bill proudly served his country in the Marines during the Vietnam War where he was awarded a Purple Heart and many other medals. After his time in service, he worked for many years at Stonecutter Mills. He also worked at M and R Tables and did carpentry work. He was a member of Cane Creek Baptist Church.
Bill was predeceased by his loving wife of 43 years, Zelma "Cricket" Crissone and siblings, Kathleen Crissone Sharp, Clyde W Crissone , Margaret "Peggy" Robinson and David Crissone.
Surviving is his son, Chris Crissone and wife, Ashley; three granddaughters whom he adored, Addison, Laney and Caitlyn Crissone; siblings, Jane Atkins, John Crissone (Amy), Bobbi Nodine (Tim), Joyce Harwood, Lewis Crissone, Wanda Crissone (Alson) and many nieces and nephews.
There will be no public services. In lieu of flowers please donate to the VA healthcare system, Voluntary Services in Asheville NC.
