James Harold Britton Jr., 47, of Indianola, Iowa passed away Sunday, July 21, 2024, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

James’ Celebration of Life will be from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, September 21, 2024, at the Indianola Country Club, 1610 Country Club Road, Indianola, IA. During his celebration, golfing will be available.

James Harold Britton Jr. was born November 19, 1976, in Sioux City, Iowa to James and Wendy (Stivers) Britton Sr. Growing up he resided in Sioux City, Omaha, and Indianola. James attended Iowa State University before embarking on his entrepreneurship journey. He was the owner and operator of Britton Construction Services, dedicating 30 years to the construction industry.

James was the father to his beloved children, Allison and Cael, whom he loved deeply and was immensely proud of. He was engaged to his fiancé, Cheryl, and eagerly anticipated their future marriage. James found great joy in showing quarter horses, time spent on the golf course, and attending dirt track races across central Iowa. He valued hours spent cheering on the Iowa State Cyclones and Green Bay Packers, participating in fantasy football, and gaming with his son.

Above all, he cherished the memories created with his children, fiancé, family, and friends.

James will be missed by his children, Allison Britton and Cael Britton; fiancé, Cheryl Bentz; mother, Wendy Britton-Knau; stepfather, Gregory Knau; brother, Jamie Britton; stepbrother, Jon Knau; and Cheryl’s children, Sophie Creswell, and Hannah Cooke. He was preceded in death by his father, James Britton Sr.; maternal grandparents, John and Roberta Stivers; and paternal grandparents, Harold and Edna Britton.
