Jack T. Goodrich, Jr., 74, of Oil City, died at home, Sunday, July 21, 2024.

Born June 12, 1950, in Oil City, he was a son of the late Jack Sr. and Mary Jane Phillips Goodrich.

A 1968 Oil City High School graduate, he was a part of the first class to graduate from the new high school.

Jack began working as a young man washing cars at the family-owned carwash, Mr. Aqua Spray Auto Wash, went on to work for years at Strickland Construction, and retired from Franklin Industries after 35 years.

Mr. Goodrich attended Trinity United Methodist Church.

He enjoyed boating out of the Oil City Marina, played cards almost every weekend, and loved watching NASCAR and drag races. Jack was involved with two golf leagues, the Senior Men’s League at Sleepy Hollow and the PNA Men’s League at Whitetail Run. He was well known among his friends and family as being able to fix anything.

On July 28, 1973, he was married to the former Martha A. “Marty” Beer who preceded him in death on March 23, 2016.

Surviving are three children, James Goodrich of Oil City, Shannon Balot and her husband Joel of Oil City, and Thomas Goodrich and his fiancée Kari Bertolina of Oil City; and four grandchildren, David Balot, Aiden Balot, Bryce Balot, and Dorian Bertolina.

Also surviving are a brother, James Goodrich and his spouse Sherman Hester of Florida, and many loving in-laws and cousins.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by an infant child, Jacqueline Goodrich, and his son’s partner William Scholl.

Friends will be received at the Morrison Funeral Home, Thursday, July 25, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm.

A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Friday at 11 am with Rev. Thomas Carr officiating.

Interment will be in Grove Hill Cemetery.
