Carlos Alberto Couto, 75, passed away, on Sunday, July 21, 2024 at the HCA Florida Northwest Hospital in Fort Lauderdale, FL. He was born in Tabua, Portugal and emigrated to the US in June of 1986 and resided in the Ironbound Section of Newark.

Carlos was a Bakery Mechanic for America’s Bakery in Irvington, NJ for many years, before retiring. He proudly served in the Portuguese Military in Guine, Africa from 1969 – 1971.

Son of the late Jose Carlos and Deolinda (de Jesus) Couto; husband of 33 years of Celsa de Jesus Rua Couto; dear father of Alberto Emanuel Rua Couto and Carla Cristina Couto; brother of Jose Carlos Couto, Antonio Jose Couto and Fernanda Jose Couto; cherished grandfather of Jane Antunes, Joseph Couto-Bezerra, Katheryn Couto and Allisyn Couto.

The wake for Carlos will be held on Friday, July 26, 2024 from 8:30-9:30am at the Buyus Funeral Home 426 Lafayette St., at Wilson Ave., Newark, NJ 07105. Thence to Our Lady of Fatima Church, Newark, where at 10 am the Funeral Mass will be offered.
