Steve Oleksiuk III unexpectedly passed away on July 16, 2024, in Anchorage, Alaska while on vacation.
Steve was born on May 22, 1948, in Denton, Texas. His parents were Thelma Billie and Steve Oleksiuk Jr. He attended Amarillo Catholic High School. Steve went on to graduate college at Southwestern Oklahoma State University College of Pharmacy.
Steve married Wanda Stuart on April 1,1972, together they had Stevie, Stacy, and Starsky.
He found the perfect place to raise his children just outside of Robert Lee, Texas. Steve served his community as the local pharmacist for over 30 years as the owner of Coke County Pharmacy. Between his business and attending church, he made many friends over the years.
Steve liked riding around the property on his Ranger, a good campfire, hiking, taking in mountain views, and talking about the West Texas heat. Every year he would say, “this summer is going to be the hottest ever recorded” and there was no arguing because while in it, each summer did truly feel the hottest.
Steve married Fran Sonnenberg-Oleksiuk on August 21, 2021, in Robert Lee. He enjoyed spending time with her sons and their families.
While Steve was a devoted Catholic; he enjoyed Bible Study at the Robert Lee Baptist Church and Sunday mornings at the Bronte Methodist Church. He made sure his grandchildren knew the Lord; often inviting them to church services, fall festivals, and helping at the food pantry. Because of his unwavering faith, Steve’s family took comfort in his passing, knowing that he is with his Lord and Savior.
He is survived by his son Steve (Stevie) Oleksiuk IV and his wife, Dallas, daughter Stacy Kelton and her husband, Shane, and youngest son Starsky Oleksiuk and his wife, Erin. Steve’s grandchildren; Chelsey Oleksiuk, Kyle Kelton, Kourtney Kelton, Trace Oleksiuk, Steve (Tiggs) Oleksiuk V, Presley Oleksiuk, Avary Oleksiuk, Brooklyn Oleksiuk, and Lane Oleksiuk. He is also survived by his two great grandchildren Holden and Collins Oleksiuk. Bonus children include Lee and his wife Paula, Lynn Sonnenberg, Jerry Willeford and Silas, Sadie, Scout, and Ryan, his bonus grandchildren. He was loved by his brother and sister in-laws and many nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind several cousins.
