Felix Augusto Perez Obituary

Félix Augusto Pérez, 86, of Houston, passed away peacefully at home on July 16, 2024.

Félix was born in 1937 to Feliciano and Dolores Pérez in Cabaiguan, Cuba. Félix received his Bachelor of Science at the Instituto de Segunda Enseñanza de La Habana in 1956.

In 1963, Félix met Gladys Alonso during a meeting at Crusellas & Company, where they were both Public Accountants. They married in Marianao, Cuba, in 1964. They welcomed their first daughter, Diana, in 1965.

In 1966 they left Cuba for Madrid, Spain, before arriving in Stamford, Connecticut. They welcomed their second daughter, Susan, in 1968.

Longing for warmer weather, the family moved to Houston, Texas, in 1974. Félix spent 20 years working in the Construction Industry for Safeway Scaffolding before starting his own construction company, Felper; with which he built beach houses in Galveston, Texas.

In 1994, Félix retired and spent his time traveling, attending Rockets games, caring for his parents, and spending time with his grandchildren. Beyond loving his family, he was passionate about working and giving back to others. Félix positively impacted everyone he met and will be truly missed.

Félix is preceded in death by his father, Feliciano; his mother, Dolores; his brother, René; and his daughter, Diana.

He is survived by his wife, Gladys Pérez; daughter, Susan Brodeur and her husband Tony Brodeur; and grandchildren, Amy Brodeur, Joseph Brodeur, and Mary Brodeur.

A celebration of life will be held in his honor at a later date.

In place of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the Bright Focus Foundation, an organization dedicated to Alzheimer's research.

For all of the assistance and care Félix was provided, the family would like to especially thank: Roberto and Raquel Alonso, Thomas Adams, Ana Fernandez, Bola Bakare, Marisé Guzman, Nairobi Duquezne, Neysi Guevera, and Sahara Hospice.
