Dororthy Ann Miller, 72, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2024 in Leonardtown, MD, with her loving family by her side. She was born in Leonardtown, MD to the late Alice Elizabeth (Dingee) Tippett and the late Albert Thomas Tippett. Over the last ten years, she has been the loving companion of William “Bill” Cameron of Hollywood, MD. Dorothy is survived by her children, Brian Morgan (Shannon) of Schertz, TX, Donnie Miller, Jr. of Loveville, MD, and Justin Miller of Loveville, MD, as well as her siblings Joseph Tippett of Hollywood, MD, Marie Dowling of Loveville, MD, Alvin Tippett of Loveville, MD, and Linda Richards of Loveville, MD. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Harrell T. Morgan, her daughter, Crystal Faulstich, and her siblings Margaret Nelson, Jean Quade, Paul Tippett, and Theresa Hicks.
Dorothy grew up on her family's farm in Loveville, MD, and after high school, she completed her education in barbering and cosmetology. She spent 18 years in Virginia Beach, VA, where she considered it her second home, before returning to St. Mary’s County, MD to work as a home health caregiver for the next 34 years.
A devout individual, Dorothy loved yard sales on Saturday mornings and hunting for treasures at local thrift stores. Her passions included everything from dancing, playing cards, and enjoying crabs with family and friends. Known for putting others' needs before her own, Dorothy had the most contagious smile and was the life of any party.
Her greatest joys in her life were her children and grandchildren, and she will be deeply missed.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM with prayers recited by Fr. Ray Schmidt in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, Leonardtown, MD. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at 11:00 AM in Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, Mechanicsville, MD with Pastor Corey Sharpe officiating. Interment will be held on Monday, August 5, 2024 at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery, Morganza, MD.
