Tina Marie DeMarsh, 63, passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family.
Born August 30, 1960, in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of the late Allie and Marilyn (Ellithrope) Swears.
She graduated from South Glens Falls High School in 1978. Tina continued her education at Herkimer Community College, graduating in 1980 with an associate’s degree in Travel and Tourism. Tina started North Country Tours 37 years ago based off an idea to assist in guided tours for motorcoach groups visiting Lake George / Lake Placid and Saratoga regions. After several conversations with motorcoach and tour operations, it was a unique and specialized operation that was not offered in the area and was destined to be one of a kind and to thrive. North Country Tours quickly stepped into the role of guided tours, travel arrangements, day trips and convention planning. Over the years, North Country Tours traveled to many different locations including Nashville, Montreal, Myrtle Beach, Atlantic City, Maine, Cape Cod, Boston, New York City and Lake Placid.
She also was employed by Tiki Resorts in Lake George and held many different hospitality jobs throughout the years.
Tina enjoyed kayaking, skiing, painting, traveling, hanging out with her many girlfriends, and most importantly spending time with her two grandsons.
Left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Samantha Sprague of Hartford, Rachel DeMarsh of Colorado, and Alissa Kuklinski (Todd) of Queensbury; sister, Robin Bixby of Massachusetts; grandsons, James Lutz III of Hartford and Dawson Kuklinski of Queensbury.
At Tina’s request there will be no calling hours. A Celebration of life will be held at a date and time to be announced.
The family would like to give a special thanks to her sister, Robin Bixby for all her care and compassion throughout the years. They also would like to thank the C.R. Wood Cancer Center, and hospice for all their care and compassion.
Arrangements are in the care of M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home 136 Main St. South Glens Falls, NY 12803. To view Tina’s Book of Memories please visit kilmerfuneralhome.com.
