A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, July 19, 2024, at 4 pm, at the New Haven Church of the Brethren in Middleton, MI for Rose Marie Hinton-Litwiller, age 88, of Sumner, Michigan who went to her heavenly home July 17, 2024 at Green Acres Assisted Living of Ionia.

Rose Marie was born in Edmore on December 31, 1935 to Fern (Jones) Fitzpatrick and William (Joe) Fitpatrick. She was a lifelong resident of Sumner and a graduate of Fulton High School. Rose Marie was married to Marvin Leroy Hinton from May 31, 1954 until his homegoing on October 9, 1998. Rose Marie married Carl Litwiiller on January 7, 2001 at the New Haven Church of the Brethren. They shared twenty-three years together until his homegoing in January 2024.

Rose Marie served as bookkeeper for Hinton Trucking, her church, and others 1954-1979; then as a Postal Service rural route carrier from 1979 until retirement twenty-three years later. She enjoyed entertaining at the family cottage on Duck Lake and travel trips with Marvin; later she enjoyed traveling and camping and spent twenty winters in Florida making life-long friendships together with Carl. She was an active member of the New Haven Church of the Brethren and a volunteer at Carson Hospital and Camp Barakel. Since 1993, she loved filling and gathering shoe boxes for Samaritan’s Purse with the Billy Graham Association. She enjoyed sharing baked goods, cards and letters of encouragement, and the Daily Bread with family members and friends. She will be remembered as generous, welcoming, joyful, faithful, lover of Scripture, energetic, and hard-working by those who held her dear.

Hinton; Kirk (Yvonne) Litwiller, Karla Davis, Jantha (Joseph) Rosencrans; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; brother Jim Fitzpatrick; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by children Bradford Loren and Barbara Ann; brother Don Fitpatrick and sister Virginia Brien.
