Margaret "Mike" Boble Wertz, 103, of Dubuque, died Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at the Stonehill Care Center in Dubuque.

Visitation will be from 10:00 am until 11:15 am Friday, July 19, 2024 at St. Columbkille Catholic Church.

The Mass of Christian Burial for Margaret will be 11:30 am Friday, July 19, 2024, at St. Columbkille Catholic Church with Father Dustin Vu as the Celebrant. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery in Dubuque.

Margaret was born December 31, 1920, in Dubuque, the daughter of Frank T. and Anna I. (Rohner) Boble. On December 26, 1945, she married Donald E. Wertz. He preceded her in death on November 7, 1994.

She worked at Anderson-Weber. Her Catholic faith was very important to her.  She was a member of the Serra Club of Dubuque, St. Elizabeth Mothers Club and the St. Columbkille Rosary Society.  

Survivors include two sons, Dr. Thomas (Patricia) Wertz and Dr. R. Michael (Diane) Wertz, both of Dubuque; daughter-in-law, Ann (George Sztajer) Wertz of  Little Elm, TX; two daughters, Connie (James) Peters of Allen, TX, and Jeannie (Kyle) Olsen of Scottsdale, AZ; 11 grandchildren, Brian Wertz, Timothy Wertz, Jennifer Dillon, Dr. Joseph Wertz, Carrie Welbes, Michelle Zeal, Amy Neiss, Jeffrey Wertz, Stacy Peters, Scott Peters, Kevin Peters and 24 great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband she was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Dr. David Wertz; sisters, Florence (Ray) Miller, Leona (Linus) Gardner, Lorraine (Charles) Phillips, Dorothy (James) Lord and Helen Griffin.

The family would like to extended a special Thank You to the Staff at Assisi Village for their care and loving support.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for Assisi Village.
