Funeral services for James “Ed” Cooper, 79, of Reynolds will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at 11:00 am at Henderson Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Ed passed away peacefully surrounded by his family along with his favorite dog, Bo, on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at his residence.
He was a member of Tift County Baptist Church. Ed enjoyed volunteering and helping people in the community.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Maxine Camp Cooper; three brothers, Frank Cooper, Virgil Cooper, Jr., and Steve Cooper; a sister, Grace Fryer; his son, Coy Connell; and his wife, June Goodman Cooper.
Survivors include two sons, Tracy Connell of Reynolds and Travis Connell of Reynolds; one daughter, Darlene Duncan (Michael) of Reynolds; two brothers, Bo Cooper of Perry and Danny Cooper of Marshallville; three sisters, Joyce Cooper of Tifton, Barbara Hancock of Tifton and Doris Carter of Tifton; thirteen grandchildren; ten great-granddaughters; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Visitation will be held on Friday evening from 5 to 7 pm at the funeral home.
