Jennifer L. Onesti, 40 of Shawano, formerly of Mattoon, passed away after a six-year battle with Alzheimer’s, at Azura Memory Care, Manitowoc under the care of Heartland Hospice.
Jennifer was born on July 14, 1983, in Wausau, the daughter of Allen and Lisa (Long) Onesti.
Jennifer worked as a volunteer at Sacred Heart School in Shawano serving meals and distributing papers to the classrooms. She also volunteered at the Shawano Fire Department. Jennifer enjoyed listening to country music, dancing and singing. She loved animals, bowling, swimming, reading and doing word search puzzles. Jennifer participated in the Special Olympics and always looked forward to family gatherings.
Jennifer is survived by her parents, Allen and Lisa Onesti; siblings, Joanna (Kelley) Karls and Walter (girlfriend, Kari Miller) Onesti; nieces, Reese, Kendra, MaKenzie and Klara; aunt and uncles, Susan Thiex, Karen (Bruce) Tomlinson, Teresa (Jacob) Daruthayan, Patricia Kowalski, Daniel (Denise) Onesti Sr., Sarah (Paul) Kickhaver, Brenda (Michael) Rondeau, Holly (Tony) Wudstrack, Bruce Long and Richard (Michelle) Long; 34 cousins, as well as other family and friends.
Jennifer was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ellsworth & Lana Long and Frank & Beverly Onesti; aunt, Renata Long and uncles, Peter Thiex and Phil Kowalski.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, July 18, 2024, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Bowler. Pastor Matthew Christians will preside. Burial will be in St. Paul-Riverside Cemetery, Town of Almon. Visitation will be on Thursday, from 9 AM until the time of service at the church.
