Judith S. Liberge Obituary

Judith Shirley Liberge, known affectionately to her friends and family as Judy, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2024, at the age of 82 in Peabody, Massachusetts, after a valiant battle with metastatic lung cancer. Born on April 25, 1942, in Lynn, Massachusetts, Judy grew up as the cherished daughter of the late Albert and Virginia Mcadoo. She walked through life with a radiant smile and an infectious laughter that could light up any room.

Judy was the loving widow of Walter Liberge, who predeceased her, and is survived by her devoted daughters, Lisa Roberts and Michelle Liberge Sellinger; son-in-law, Chris Sellinger; and her adored grandchildren, Alison and Dean Roberts. Judy's role as a mother and grandmother was her greatest joy and accomplishment. Her unwavering support and boundless love for her family were evident in every aspect of her life.

A proud graduate of Peabody High School, Judy carried the values of hard work and dedication throughout her life. Her career journey began as a department store clerk where she was known for her meticulous attention to detail and her genuine warmth toward customers. Later, she embraced the role of a stay-at-home mom, pouring her heart into raising her daughters. Judy's caring nature also led her to volunteer as a candy striper, providing comfort and companionship to countless patients.

Judy had a zest for life and an array of interests that reflected her vibrant personality. Her artistic talents were seen in her love for art and music. A talented singer, Judy's beautiful voice was often the highlight at family gatherings and community events. Her love for nature and animals was a testament to her gentle spirit, and she found solace and joy in the simplicity of observing the beauty around her.

Perhaps one of Judy's most cherished pastimes was spending quality time with her family and friends, often while enjoying her favorite blueberry martinis at the Century House. She lived life to the fullest, embracing every moment with grace and enthusiasm. Judy's grandkids were the apple of her eye, and she took immense pride in watching them grow, supporting them unconditionally through every step of their lives. Alison cared for her with the skills as a Registered Nurse, but also as a loving granddaughter, giving her the dignity and bravery to let go of her pain. She provided Grammy with love and gave her strength until her very last breath.

Described by those who knew her as creative, funny, and courageous, Judy's legacy is one of laughter, creativity, and bravery in the face of adversity. Her humor was a source of joy for all, and her creative spirit inspired those around her to appreciate the arts and the beauty of self-expression. Judy faced life's challenges with remarkable courage, serving as a beacon of strength and resilience to her family.

Judy's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with love, laughter, and a deep appreciation for the world around her. Her memory will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those she touched. She will be dearly missed, but her spirit will live on through the lives of her family and the many friends who were blessed to know her.

As we say farewell to Judy, we celebrate the remarkable woman she was and the indelible impact she made on the world. Her journey through life was one of joy, love, and an unwavering commitment to her family, and she will forever be remembered as a beacon of love and light to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Judy's story is not one of sorrow, but rather a reminder to cherish every moment, to live with passion, and to love unconditionally. Her legacy is a testament to a life well-lived, full of cherished memories that will continue to inspire and comfort us all.
