Beatrice Mary Backler, "Mary" (Nee Maddison) We said good-bye to the sweetest, kindest, most loving woman on Saturday, November 5, 2016 when she passed away quietly, with her daughter by her side. Beatrice Mary Maddison ("Mary") was born June 19, 1929; married Victor Backler on January 29, 1949; and was the proud mother of three children, Richard (Barb Schuppe) Backler, Verna (Doug) Hensiak and Tom (Martha Heltsley) Backler. She was the loving grandmother of Sean Backler, Pat Backler, Shelby (Vince) Haase, Barret (Liz) Hensiak, Joy Becker and Brian Backler. She was also the great-grandmother of twelve precious great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her very special niece, Doreen Backler, as well as members of her extended family, her caregivers and her nurses. Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Vic, who left us in 2009; and her daughter-in-law Donna Backler, who passed away in 1999. Mary will be remembered for her ever-present smile and her pleasant disposition, for her compassion and for her sweet and gentle way. A harsh or unkind word never passed her lips and she never had a bad thing to say about anyone. She chose to look on the bright side of any situation and was always there with words of encouragement and praise. She cherished the visits with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and looked forward to seeing them or hearing about their activities. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 11 2016 at CHURCH AND CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME, 380 Bluemound Rd. Waukesha (on the corner of Bluemound Rd and Hwy J) from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Interment at Prairie Home Cemetery will follow.
