Harold Burgin Singleton, 82, of Belmont, passed away June 23, 2024 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia.  He was born September 25, 1941 in Buncombe County, North Carolina, son of the late John and Ruby Ball Singleton.

Harold was a corporate pilot for more than 40 years.  The last 23 years of his career was as Flight Operations Director for Charter Jet Transport owned by Keffer Automotive Group.  One of Harold's greatest joys was that he was able to fly Mother Theresa and her Sisters of Charity.  He was a member of Lutheran Church of the Holy Comforter in Belmont.

Those left to cherish Harold's memory are his wife of 60 years, Freida Jo Surrett Singleton; daughter, Angela Singleton Bunney and husband Alan Daniels; grandchildren, Ashley Bunney and Kristen Bunney; his sister Gwen Singleton Alsop and her husband David Alsop; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service to celebrate Harold's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 26, 2024 at Lutheran Church of the Holy Comforter, 216 N. Main Street Belmont, NC 28012, with Rev. Micah Kearney officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Lutheran Church of the Holy Comforter Vision Fund at the address above.
