David L. Waller, 79, of Ironton, OH, passed away Thursday, July 11, 2024, at Harbor Healthcare of Ironton. He was born June 4, 1945 in Huntington, WV, to the late Fred and Virgie Carrico Waller. David was a Coal Grove High School graduate and earned his Bachelor’s and Master's degrees from Morehead State University. He spent thirty plus years in education and coaching at Coal Grove High School and also served as Athletic Director during his tenure there. Throughout his career, he formed many lasting relationships and left a lasting impact on everyone he worked with. David was a member of Ohio Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Hall of Fame; a recipient of the James Naismith Meritorious Service Award and a member of Zoar Baptist Church, Coal Grove, OH. Survivors include his loving wife, Carol Crain Waller; son, Mike (Teresa) Waller; one grandson, Blake Waller; one granddaughter, Kelsie Waller; one brother, Fred (JoEtta) Waller; one sister, Judy (Jim) Beals and several nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Monday, July 15, 2024, from 6 PM ~ 8 PM at Schneider-Hall Funeral Home in Chesapeake, OH. The funeral will take place on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Schneider-Hall Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery in Ironton, OH.
