Dewayne Crews Obituary

Dewayne Crews, 80, of Jacksonville, FL passed away July 7, 2024. He was born April 27, 1944, in Jacksonville, FL to the late Fay and Catherine (Sears) Crews. Dewayne was a graduate of Ribault High School where he was the quarter back on the football team. Following high school, he continued playing football for Livingston College in Alabama. Dewayne made a career as Project Engineer for the State of Florida. He loved sports, planting, and yardwork. Dewayne was a true patriot who loved his country. For pure enjoyment, he could be found to get an algebra book and work problems, equations, and curves out. More than anything, Dewayne treasured spending time with his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Dwayne is survived by his best friend and wife of 57 years, Susan (Livingston) Crews; sons, Steven Crews (Dana) and Darren Crews (Suzanne); stepdaughter, Gabrielle Chestnut; grandchildren, Promise Crews, Sarah Crews, Jonathan Crews, Silas Crews, Ashlyn Crews and Kenzie Crews with numerous extended family and friends. Graveside services will be held at 10:00am, Friday, July 12, 2024, with Dr. David Peacock officiating.
