Luke Christopher Bender Obituary

Luke Christopher Bender passed away on Monday June 8, 2024 at the age of 20.

He was born in Houston, TX and moved to Boise, ID at 6 weeks of age with his parents and 2 older siblings. He attended Foothills Preschool, Roosevelt Elementary School, Riverside Elementary School, Les Bois Junior High School and Timberline High School.

Over the years, he was involved with Ride for Joy therapeutic horseback riding, MDA summer camp in McCall and AWeSOMe adaptive skiing at Brundage Mountain Resort. He enjoyed playing on is iPad, shopping at Target, making spin art, riding on the school bus, anything related to BSU, and spending time on the boat in McCall and with his after-school caregivers Parker and Bree. He was also known for his epic Halloween costumes.

He brought a beautiful smile and infectious joy to those around him.

He is survived by his parents, Jean and Matt Bender and siblings, Reed and Mary Kate. Details are pending regarding a Celebration of Life. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation (umdf.org) or your charity of choice.
