Adam Plummer Obituary

Born on September 11, 1964 in Pensacola, Florida. Adam packed 10 lifetimes into his nearly 60 years. Most importantly as trusted friend to many and devoted family man — loving husband to Linda and incredibly proud father to Ryan and Nathan, son to Jim and Janice (who preceded him in death), and brother to Jason and Gary.

He was a born leader of men and a patriot for his country, including his service as a U.S. Marine from 1983-87 (Paris Island, SC and Cherry Point, NC). He earned distinction as 'honor man' in his platoon, was meritoriously promoted to Sergeant and served as Plane Captain, using his incredible skills as an aviation mechanic. Those he served with remain his brothers for life.

Adam lived his bucket list every day — he was a college football player at Western Maryland (where he met Linda), spent a summer on a fishing boat in the Bering Sea of Alaska, was a River Guide in the Cascades, saved lives as an EMT, rode a Harley, ran half marathons, was an experienced mountaineer and rock climber, sailor and scuba diver, played guitar, learned jujitsu, coached baseball and basketball, raced cars with the boys, was an accomplished pilot and professional skydiver with more than a thousand jumps (since only 2018) with his newfound family at Skydive Carolina. He also recently realized a lifelong dream by starting an aviation mechanic business, WingWorks Aviation. All the while, working his real job as a 30-year IT professional. The list is endless… as is his legacy.

He was bold and fearless, passionate and compassionate beyond words and his friends and family will aspire to honor his legacy by living life to the fullest. There was no one like him on this earth and he made a lasting, permanent impact on everyone he met. So many looked to him as a father figure. He was the penultimate family man, he took care of his business and he valued every second with his loved ones. He taught us all what it means to live a fulfilling life and he continues to share wisdom with us even in death. His message was to live life to the fullest, value every single second and don’t be an ass___. A celebration of Adam’s life will be held this Friday, July 12th from 1pm - 4pm, a private event for family and friends at his favorite bar, the Twisted Pear Tap Room in Forest City, NC.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a memorial donation may consider Children of Fallen Heroes at childrenoffallenheroes.org/
