Patricia Fernandez Obituary

Rev. Patricia Martin Fernandez, age 74, born October 17, 1949, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, July 10, 2024. She was born, in Brownsville, PA to Harry L. Martin Sr. and Louise Love whom preceded her in death. Patricia is also preceded in death by her sister, Harriet Martin; brothers: Shawn Martin, Sr., and Charles Martin, and son, Craig A. Howard.

She is survived by her 3 children: Leslie Howard-Watts (Monique) of Cheverly, MD, Denetta Howard-Harris (Rodney) of Uniontown, PA and Michael A. Howard, Sr. of Uniontown, PA; grandsons she raised: Michael A. Howard, Jr. and Isaiah Howard; bonus sons: Michael Aaron Howard and Kaz McClain; brother, Harry Martin, Jr (Delores) of Masontown, PA; sister, Beatrice Jackson (Roland) of Brownsville, PA; 24 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family who loved her dearly.

Patricia was a member of St. Paul’s AME Church in Uniontown, PA where she served as an usher, the outreach ministry, and was a member of God’s Choir, Senior Choir, Outreach Team President, and any other capacity needed. She was also a member of the Gospel group Change and Y.W.B.A Mass choir. She had such a beautiful voice and loved to sing.  She loved the Lord and as a certified pastor was committed to teaching the gospel of Jesus Christ to her family, friends, and anyone she met to guide souls toward the Kingdom of God.  She impacted many lives and loved unconditionally, opening her doors to many of the neighborhood children. Patricia had various careers in service, including as a home health care aid prior to retirement. She enjoyed visiting and mentoring her clients. She had an infectious smile that lit up the room and would make sure you were smiling before you left her presence. When she hugged you, it was like being held by an angel.

Patricia will be missed by all. But I can hear God say to Her, “Well done, good and faithful servant: you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter intothe joy of your Lord.”
