Paddy Ann Collinson Obituary

Paddy Ann Collinson (nee Plumb) April 26, 1942-July 4, 2024. Our beloved mother and grandmother passed away in hospice, surrounded by loved ones after a short illness with lung cancer.

Born in Halstead, Essex, England, to wonderful parents, she is predeceased by her mother Gwendoline (nee Wiffen), Father Lawrence and twin brother Larry.

Paddy is survived by her daughters Rae-Ann (Mike Hutchinson), Michelle (Ron Grant), Tamara (Kevin Metcalf) and her former spouse Raymond. Her grandchildren Jadon Grant, Devon Grant, Riven Grant, Nickolas Hutchinson, great grandson Finn Grant and sister-in-law Janet Plumb.

She leaves behind many cousins, nieces, nephews, three aunts and an uncle in England, Canada, Australia and the USA that are missing her laugh and her long chats dearly.

The Queen of our family, Paddy had an amazing life and was devoted to her loved ones, always being there when needed. Her family made her the happiest. She loved keeping busy, making sure her home was immaculate, spending time cooking for and with her family or lending a hand, no matter the task. Paddy loved to chat, go on adventures and spend time with her many friends, family and her three grand dogs. Her generous heart, warm laugh and beautiful smile that greeted you with genuine love warmed many hearts.

Mom, you were always there for us, no matter what. Living without you is a heartache we will endure, and our lives will never be the same without your love and fabulous lemon loaf.

Paddy’s joyful celebration of life will be held at 3:00pm, August 11th, 2024, at the Esquimalt Gorge Park Pavillion. In the spirit of mom’s beautiful heart and practical fashion sense, please dress casually in your favourite colour summer outfit and bring your best stories to celebrate her wonderful character.

In lieu flowers, the family requests you consider a donation to your local lung association or cancer clinic.
