Life Reflections


On September 24, 1981, Russell Lynn Neal, II was born in Hope, Arkansas, to Rev. Russell L. Neal and Wanda J. Neal. He was the first born of three children to his parents. He was educated in the Hope Public School System. He later received a certificate for heavy equipment operator. He obtained his CDL training and license at CJ Truck Driving School. Russell was known for his kind and unselfish attitude. He had a heart of gold. Russell never met a stranger. He was an avid outdoorsman, loving fishing and hunting and horse riding. Rusty was a true cowboy at heart.

Russell united with Greater Hope Missionary Baptist Church and was baptized by his father, Pastor Russell Neal, in his teen years. He later became a member of Roadside Church of God in Christ, serving faithfully as a deacon and musician. He married Latasha Barker on May 24, 2009. He is the father of six children.

Russell is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Carey and Ludy Neal; maternal grandparents, Willie C. and Charmeas Carrigan; aunt, Brenda Carrigan; uncles, Elmer Neal, Sr. and Curtis Carrigan.

Russell leaves to cherish his memory his wife Latasha Neal; six children: son, Aevian Neal and daughters, Amauria, Kamren, Azauria, Reagan, Raelyn; parents, Russell and Wanda Neal; brother, Ryan Neal (Frog) of Atlanta, Georgia; sister, Rozilyn (Cedric) Page of Hope, Arkansas; one niece, Cailyn (Itty Bitty) Page; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
