James Lloyd Murray Obituary

The family of James Lloyd Murray of Maquapit Lake, NB would like to announce his sudden passing after a short illness at the Dr Everett Chalmers Hospital on July 9, 2024, his 84th birthday.


Lloyd was the son of the late J. William Murray and Margaret Murray (Donahee).


Lloyd will be missed by his son James Murray (Rosette) and daughter Cathy Murray. Grandchildren Brody Stewart (Marie), Taylor Stewart (Noah), Chantal Murray and Alex Murray. Sister Ruth Carter along with sisters in law Jean Phillips, Lynda Gale (Mark), Ethel Murray, Josephine Scribner, Mary Scribner and brothers in law Ron (Dawn) and Vernon Scribner and many nieces and nephews.


In addition to his parents he was predeased by his loving wife, Faye Murray (Scribner), daughter Judith Ann Murray, sisters Alice Cassie and Eleanor Gallagher, brothers Ronald, Earl and Carl.


Lloyd will be remembered for his candour, quick wit, generosity, hard work ethic and tremendous love for his family. He shared a nearly 60 year love story with Faye, who passed away in 2022, taking a part of him with her. He was the best father and grandfather who gave selflessly and they knew they were loved beyond measure. Lloyd loved to socialize with neighbours and friends.


He took pride in being self employed most of his life. He was a woods worker and a commercial fisherman among many other ventures. He continued to work in his wood pile cutting and splitting firewood up until a few short weeks ago.


The family would like to thank Dr J LeClerc, nurses and doctors at OPH ER and 4SW at DECH for their excellent care and compassion given to Lloyd and family. A donation in Lloyd’s memory can be made to a charity of your choosing.


A graveside service will be held at the Byno Cemetery in Lakeville Corner, NB on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at 1:00 pm.
