Jean Hodson Obituary

Jean Hodson, a steadfast figure of strength, intelligence, and love, peacefully passed away on July 10th, 2024, in Cincinnati, Ohio, at the impressive age of 97. Born in Brown County, Ohio, on November 4th, 1926, to John Andrew Courts and Fannie Jane (Young) Courts, Jean led a life rich with experiences, characterized by an unwavering passion for travel, games, and a devotion to her family and faith.

Jean's journey through life was one of dedication and companionship, most profoundly shared with her beloved husband, Joe Hodson, whom she married in 1962. Their bond was a testament to true partnership, as they did everything together, with Jean meticulously planning their numerous adventures while Joe was behind the wheel, guiding them to each stop. Together, they saw most of the United States in their well-loved RV, making lifelong memories at places like Crazy Horse Mountain and Wall Drugs.

Her love for numbers and details was not only a hallmark of her travels but also her professional life. Jean worked with precision as a bookkeeper at Hodson Plumbing, bringing the same level of care and attention to her work that she did to every aspect of her life.

A competitive spirit with a playful edge, Jean reveled in the excitement of a good game. She relished a challenging match of any card or board game but especially Sequence since it was one of her favorites.

Jean's legacy is one of love and dedication, reflected in the lives of those she leaves behind. She was predeceased by her husband of over 50 years Joe Hodson, her parents, her niece in law, Shirley Watson and her niece Gladys Ralston. Her memory will be cherished by her loving family: niece Janet (Tom) Hatfield, nephew David Watson, stepdaughter Vicki (Tim) Johannes, close friends Ken (Fran) Flory, as well as her loving nieces and nephews.
