James Thomas "Tommy" Cherry Obituary

CHERRY—James Thomas “Tommy” Cherry, 85, of Middleburg, FL passed away on July 6, 2024. Tommy was born on May 9, 1939, in Middleburg, FL. He was the son of the late Carl Cherry, and Abner Murray Cherry.


 Tommy will be remembered as a man that was devoted to his family and dedicated to his country. Tommy served his country proudly in the United States Air Force. After his time in the service, he made his career as a supervisor, with Duval County Motor Pool, for the city of Jacksonville. He retired after many years of faithful service to the city.


 Tommy loved the outdoors; he enjoyed hunting and he really loved to go fishing.


Tommy leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 42 years, Liz Cherry; daughter, Sandi Countryman; two brothers, Buddy Cherry, Sr,, and Billy Silcox; grandson, JR Rivers; two great-granddaughters, many nieces, nephews, and other loving family members and friends.


Tommy touched the lives of many over his 85 years and will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.
