Hugh Caleb Lowe, Sr., age 85, of Boomer, passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at his home.

          Hugh was born February 2, 1939 in Wilkes County, the son of the late Melvin Lowe and Bessie Corn Lowe.

          Hugh graduated from Union Grove High School in 1958 and also attended Tennessee Temple Bible College and Piedmont Bible College in Winston-Salem.  He had worked for Cannon Mills for 40 years before retiring. He enjoyed playing the banjo, reading, studying the Bible, and also liked to work in the garden.

He pastored at Westside Baptist in Salisbury and taught Sunday school as well as was an interim pastor at many other churches. 

          Including his parents, he was preceded in death by: a son, Hugh Caleb Lowe, Jr.; brothers, John Shelton Lowe, Olin Lowe; his sisters, Francis Lowe, Dorothy Lowe, Java Morrow, Addie Blakenship, Amy Lowe.

          Those left to cherish and honor his memories include: his wife of 33 years, Trudy Troutman Lowe; his children, Bo Wayne Lowe, Renee Motley; his grandchildren, Tiffany Lowe, Lukas Motley, Morgan Motley, Taylor Motley; his great-grandchildren, Bentley Linker, Madelynn Linker; his brothers, Jeff Lowe, Dennis Lowe; his sister, Cynthia Lowe

          The funeral service will be held at 11a.m., Friday, July 12, 2024 at Adams Funeral Home Chapel in Taylorsville. Pastor Ken Cagle will officiate. Burial will follow in the West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove, NC.

          The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. prior to the service.
