Joyce E. Crews, 82, of Jacksonville, and formerly of Chapin, died Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at The Pointe in Jacksonville. She was born August 18, 1941, in Jacksonville, the daughter of George W. and Virginia M. Young Coffman. She married Charles A. “Tony” Crews on April 17, 1960, at Chapin Christian Church in Chapin, and he preceded her in death on December 19, 2005.


Mrs. Crews is survived by two children, Jodie (Anthony) Ryndak of St. Simons Island, Georgia and Richard (Laurie) Crews of Winchester; two grandchildren, Jake Scott of St. Louis, Missouri and Eli Crews of Winchester; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one grandson, Wyatt, and her siblings, Beverly Buchanan and Kenneth and Ronald Coffman.


Mrs. Crews managed the Concord branch of Chapin State Bank for over 40 years. She was a longtime and dedicated member of Chapin Christian Church. She cherished time spent with family and friends.


A funeral service will be held at 12 Noon on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at Williamson Funeral Home in Jacksonville, with burial at Chapin Cemetery. The family will meet friends from 10-12 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Chapin Christian Church. Condolences may be left online at www.airsman-hires.com.
