Sammy "Bill" Gee Giordano Obituary

Sammy “Bill” Gee Giordano, 78, a resident of Wausau, Wisconsin and cherished member of its historic east side neighborhood, passed away on June 3, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love and laughter.

Born in Detroit, Michigan, on December 17, 1945, Bill was the son of Samuel and Mariana (nee Lopez) Giordano. Growing up in the tight-knit community of East Detroit, now Eastpointe, Bill attended St. Veronica Catholic Grade School and later East Detroit High School. His early years were shaped by a strong interest in the fine and performing arts, passions he carried throughout his life.

After high school, Bill enlisted in the Navy to serve his country during the Vietnam War, an experience that instilled in him a deep sense of duty and honor. After returning home, he embarked on diverse careers in the restaurant and construction industries, where his years of dedication cultivated lifelong relationships with peers and colleagues.

Central to Bill’s life was his role as a devoted husband and father. He married the love of his life, Denise (nee Szykula), and together they welcomed their daughter, Leah, into their lives. Bill poured his heart into supporting his family, ensuring they had every opportunity to pursue their dreams and aspirations.

Those who knew Bill remember him for his infectious sense of humor and charismatic presence. He effortlessly lit up any room he entered, becoming the heart of countless gatherings and celebrations. A true artist in the kitchen, Bill’s culinary talents were legendary among family and friends. His ability to recreate and perfect dishes became a trademark, delighting all who had the pleasure of tasting his creations.

Beyond his culinary skills, Bill also had a knack for design and woodworking. His creative spirit found expression in the meticulous craftsmanship of his woodworking projects, each piece a testament to his skill and design sensibility.

Bill was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Denise, whose memory he cherished dearly. He is survived by his loving daughter, Leah, who works to embody the values and spirit he held dear.

Sammy “Bill” Giordano will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering dedication to family and community will continue to inspire and uplift those whose lives he touched.
