Laureen "Penny" Battler Obituary

Penny Battler (Nee Goodwin)

July 26,1949-July 9, 2024

It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness that we announce the passing of Penny, who left us surrounded by the love of her husband and daughter at Winston Park LTC, just shy of her 75th birthday.

Penny will be dearly missed by her beloved husband of 55 years, John. Cherished and loving mother of her daughter, Tori (Dan) Ryder. Survived by her pride and joy, her grandchildren Holden (Nicole) and Makenna Ryder (Mackenzie). Her memory will live on in her forthcoming first great-grandchild due in early October. Also left to mourn are her sisters Peggy, Carol Ann and Beth, family and friends. Penny was predeceased by her parents Roy and Grace Goodwin. She will be dearly missed and always in our hearts.

We would like to express our gratitude and appreciation to the wonderful staff and dedicated PSW's and nurses at Winston Park LTC Eby/Roseville neighbourhoods.

At Penny's request there will be no visitation or funeral and cremation has taken place. A private family service will take place at Williamsburg Cemetery at a future date.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to the SickKids Foundation or the Alzheimer's Society of Waterloo Wellington would be appreciated by the family.
