Wendy Kelley Obituary

North Augusta, SC…….Wendy Kelley, aged 55, went home to sing for the Lord on July 10, 2024.

She was born in 1968 in Fort Mill, SC, where she spent her childhood years.

Above all, she is known most for her ability to sprinkle joy and love like confetti everywhere she went; Wendy never met a stranger.

She watches over her devoted husband, Mike Kelley, after 34 beautiful years of marriage. Her passion, tenacity, and confidence live on through her children, Lindsey and Kyle. Daughter to Linda and Jerry Garrett, sister (and best friend) to Jonda Pacillas, and friend to all who knew her, Wendy was a warmth that touched many lives in her final home of North Augusta, SC. She happily introduced her husband’s siblings as brothers and sisters in love, who she counted amongst her closest friends. She loved her many nieces and nephews as fiercely as her own children.

People who knew Wendy best would accurately describe her as “solar powered.” She was her happiest and best self at the beach, and loved to spend her summers between Garden City Beach and the Kelley family pool making memories with a big family she cherished. Even if you didn’t know her, you’d know right away how much she loved soaking up the sun--her deep golden year-round tan gave her away at first sight.

Wendy was a woman who lived life authentically and expressively, and who found a way to touch the lives of everyone she met. You could hear her singing out in many church choirs since childhood, covering second base in softball leagues, cheering for her alma mater, and marching in the band for her beloved Yellow Jackets--trumpet in hand. She had a bold sense of style that illuminated every room she entered: she mixed elegance with glamour in her own way, making sure her appearance was as captivating as her singing voice. She had an unmatched generosity of spirit, and found so much joy in giving to others.

Wendy spent the final weeks of her life getting to know the incredible team at Piedmont hospital, who loved and cared for her like she was one of their own. They became like family to her, and her family is forever grateful for the love they showered her with.

The family will receive friends at Rowland-Ford Funeral Home on Friday, July 12, 2024 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Shriner’s Children’s, Processing Center, PO Box 947765 Atlanta, GA 30394 or at www.lovetotherescue.org
