Peggye Dianne Petersen, age 69, of Muleshoe, Texas, died Tuesday, July 9, 2024 in Muleshoe. She was born December 7, 1954 in North Carolina to Perry and Betty (Stelzig) Cumpton. She married Allen Petersen in Texico, New Mexico on September 18, 2004.


Peggye taught school in Muleshoe and loved her students. She also enjoyed baking. Most of all, Peggye loved God, her family and her church. She is preceded in death by her parents; four brothers; and one great-grandchild, Jaclyn Cockrell.


Peggye is survived by her husband, Allen; her two sons, Jeremy Williams and his wife, Renee of Anna, Illinois and Richard Petersen and his wife, Stacy of Columbus, Mississippi; her four daughters, Tina Molina and her husband, Carlos of Clovis, New Mexico, Kimberly Edwards and her husband, Dori of Farmington, New Mexico, Cindy McGrath and her husband, Nate of Las Vegas, Nevada and Amy Petersen of Clovis, New Mexico; her twenty-one grandchildren; and her ten great-grandchildren.


The family suggests memorials be sent to Created with a Purpose, 907 State Highway 86, Bovina, Texas, 79009.
