Doris Jayne Salmer


Age 87 of Owosso passed away Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at home surrounded by her loving family.


Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Sunday, July14, 2024 , at Nelson-House Funeral Home with Nathan Yerian officiating. Doris' final resting place will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 6pm to 8pm and Saturday from 2pm to 8 pm.


Doris was born November 22, 1936 in Pueblo, the daughter of Claude and Maude (Head) Fine.


Doris loved her cat "Sassy" just as it was her own child. She looked forward to annual shopping trips and truly cherished the time and memories made with her family.


She married her best friend William A. Salmer on November 22, 1954 in Pueblo, Colorado. He later predeceased her on May 19, 2011.


Doris is survived by her Daughters, Diane McNamara, Teresa (Karl) Sanderson, Rhonda (Mike) Miller, and son in law Randy Blaker; Grandchildren, Jason (Theresa) Salmer, Angela (Todd) Smalley, Richelle (Jeremy) Watz, Richauna (Clyde) Potter, Jennifer (Joe) Sumbera, William (Becky) McNamara, Benjamin (Jessica) Blaker, Ethan (Kasey) McNamara, Bobbi (Nate) Yerian, Zachery Peterson, Travis Harrow, Karon (Kurt) Long, Eric (Amy) Sanderson, and Shylo Black; Special friend Jamie Koerner; along with several great and great, great grandchildren and other loving family and friends.


She was predeceased by her Husband, William Salmer, Parents, Claude and Maude Fine, Daughter, Sharon Salmer, Son in Law Richard C McNamara, Brothers, Richard and Jerry Fine.
