Dawn M. Dotts Obituary

Dawn Marie Dotts (nee French), 64, of Oak Lawn, Illinois, peacefully passed away on July 2, 2024, surrounded by her family.

Born August 8,1959, in Chicago, to the late Betty (nee Fawkes) and Billy French. Beloved Wife of Dave Dotts, for 39 years. Loving Mother of Tanya (Steve) Nelson, Madeline Dotts, and Tony (Colleen) Dotts. Proud Grandmother of Antonio Nelson, Nick Nelson, Jon Nelson, Isabella Nelson, Angelina Dotts, and Rocco Dotts. Dear Sister of Joe (Dalia) French, the late Diane (Orville) Stewart, the late Kathy (Victor) Rodriguez, and the late Billy French. Loving Aunt to many nieces and nephews who she cared for as if they were her own.

Dawn was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who cherished her family above all else. She was a loving caretaker to so many children and family members. Dawn brought joy to everyone around her. As her daughter Tanya said, “Dawn was everybody’s phone call.” We all knew we could rely on her to talk us through any situation at any time of day.

Dawn was a fighter who showed tremendous strength throughout her battle with kidney failure.

A Memorial Service will be held on July 27th, 2024, from 4pm - 8pm at Lack & Sons Funeral Home, 9236 S. Roberts Road, Hickory Hills, Illinois.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the American Kidney Fund. This organization was very near and dear to Dawn as she herself benefited from their services. In loving memory of Dawn, please consider signing up to be an organ donor.
