Daniel Earl Baker Obituary

Daniel “Danny” Baker, 60, of Kipling passed away Tuesday, July 9, 2024. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, July 12, 2024, at Olive Branch Cemetery, 747 Olive Branch Road, Fuquay-Varina. The family will receive friends at his mother's home.

He was born and raised in Harnett County to Helen Baker and the late DH Baker. In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Linwood Hales, and step nephew, Ronald Hales, as well as many lifelong friends.

Danny graduated from Harnett Central High School in Angier, NC. He spent years in his early adulthood working carpentry and installing security systems. Danny shared a passion with his late father, spending many years maintaining the Harnett County Indian Museum. It brought him great joy, sharing the artifacts his father collected with local schools and the community. He had a love for sports, always supporting the UNC Tarheels and Miami Dolphins. Danny loved spending time with family and friends. Nothing made him happier than a family meal cooked by his Mama surrounded by loved ones, sitting around a bonfire and especially watching his sons and nephews be successful. Danny’s favorite times in his later years included days spent watching his grandsons, and great niece and nephews run around the same yard he grew up in.

Danny is survived by his mother, Helen Baker of the home; sister, Lorie Hales of Kipling; sons, Daniel Baker Jr. of Stella, Andrew Baker and wife, Brittany; grandsons, Rhett and Graylon of Four Oaks; nephew, Stephen Hales and wife, Hallie; great niece, Sawyer, and great nephews, Maddux and Maverick of Lillington; step nephew, Chris Hales and wife, Stephanie, great nephews, Christopher, Cody and Caleb of Lucama. He also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.

In lieu of flowers family ask for donations to be made to his gofundme account
