Beverly (Bev) Jean Miller, 88, of Ithaca died Monday July 8, 2024, at home. Bev was born on June 21, 1936, in Loyd, Wisconsin, daughter of Buford and Gertrude (Luther) Frye. Bev graduated from Ithaca High School in 1954. She was united in marriage with Lemuel Miller Jr on October 23, 1954. Bev was a hard-working farm wife helping run the family farm and raise four children. She was a lifetime member of the Loyd and Willow Valley United Methodist churches. She worked tirelessly for the congregation, holding several church committee offices, and successfully coordinating countless dinners and other functions.


After retiring from farming, Bev and Jr built their dream log home at the “Other Place”. She enjoyed the quietness of the country. Her biggest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who gathered frequently at her home.


Bev is survived by her husband of nearly 70 years, Lemuel Miller Jr;

Four children, Steve (Sharon) Miller of Rockbridge, Mark Miller of New Mexico, Vicki (Aaron) Kimberlin of Peoria, Arizona, and Paul (Vannary Ung) Miller of San Diego, California;

Ten grandchildren: Jason (Jamie) Miller, Ryan (Amanda) Miller and Nikole (Ryan) Jones of Ithaca, Brooke Severson of Loganville, Christopher (Margaret) Clark and Joshua Clark of Richland Center, Jenna (Zack) Eaton of Boscobel, Zachary (Ty) Balarezo of Houston, Texas, Haley Kimberlin of Tucson, Arizona, Brody Kimberlin of Peoria, Arizona;

Eighteen great-grandchildren: Mathew, Morganne, Malorie and Meghan Miller, Bailey, Erin, Ryan, Kaylee, and Gracelyn Miller, Mattie, Boe, and Phynn Severson, Sam Jones, Brynli Brady, Kiley, Colton, Macy and Myah Eaton;

Her first great-great grandchild (coming in August) Elowyn Ellie Mueller;

Sister Shirley (Arnold) Ludwig of Macon, Georgia;

Sisters-in-law Jane Frye of Elkhorn, Wisconsin, Janet (David) Neefe of Lone Rock;

Special friends Gaylord and Marie Willis;

Many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.


Bev was preceded in death by her parents, mother and father-in-law Merle and Lemuel Miller Sr., brothers Donald, Gail (Beba) and Gilbert, sisters Fern (Leslie) Willis and Darlene (Gilman) Moe and sister-in-law Doris (John) Smith.


Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at 11:00am at the Pratt Memorial Chapel with Pastors Diana Lucas and Alice Richards officiating. A livestream of the service can be viewed at the Pratt Funeral and Cremation Service website. Burial to follow at the Willow Valley Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Pratt Memorial Chapel on Monday July 15, 2024, from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM and again on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at 11:00 AM. The family requests that memorials be made to the Willow Valley Methodist Church and G.R.A.C.E. The Pratt Funeral and Cremation Service is assisting the family with their arrangements.
